Some of the traditional methods of simulating internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle sounds alter the pitch which could cause some distortion and aliasing effects.  Hence there is a perceptible difference between the real vehicle sound and the ones simulated on most commercial racing/game applications using the above technique. This effect is also significant when there are sudden changes in engine RPM like throttle blipping or stationary revving conditions. Our technology uses sample based Sound Synthesis technique wherein we track the sound with respect to engine RPM and combine different samples based on throttle inputs. High level of precision is involved while these sample transitions happen so the user gets a seamless aural experience without any fundamental sound characteristic changes. With our technology we hope to minimize the gap between the real and digital automotive world and  provide a complete experience of Vehicles with the characteristic sounds.


Platforms: Currently this simulation framework is implemented within EngineRev mobile app on android using Unity. The fundamental methodology can be programmed in a variety of toolsets for different platforms depending upon customer requirements.
